Rachel Gilbert Alisha Dress

I've been invited to what can only be described as THE London Society wedding of the year, so of course, I just had to buy a new dress for the main event.

There's no way I could get to the shops and even start to find something suitable, so I went straight to my best friend (net-a-porter!!) when it comes to shopping and found what I think might be my dream dress:

Rachel Gilbert Alisha Dress

It's a beautiful dusky-baby pink, with a fitted bodice embellished with silver gems and Swarovski crystals and daring cut-outs on the front and back and a fairy-tale chiffon skirt that is almost princess-like.

Just a little worried it's almost a little too close to being bridal...... what do you think? I need advice, people!

Jimmy Choo + UGGS = A Necessity!

Ok, first off, please let me say that this is not a blog entirely devoted to shoes.  But, I suppose my total obsession (my husband calls it a disease, but hey, what does he know!) means that shoes are going to feature very strongly on a regular basis.

And while I'm getting things off my chest, let me be the first to admit that until ten months ago, I didn't own a single pair of UGGS.  I just couldn't get my head around the ugliness of them, and being only 5'2", the complete lack of height-aiding qualities just put me right off.

Until I tried a pair that is.  And realised just HOW comfortable they are.

Now, it's got to the stage where my husband asks me if I'm ever going to take them off or "are you just going to go to bed in them?" But as I said before, what does he know?

Finally, it seems, my UGG-style dilemma has been solved, with the collaboration between Jimmy Choo and UGGS bringing a whole new range to my footwear horizon.

Witness the delectable-ness that IS the new UGGS!

My favourites!
These beauties are just the right length to wear with skirts or trousers,
and feature a miriad of studs, rivets and grommets in silver and gold.

Kinda gotta love these too!
Fab to inject a bit of fun into a dreary, cold and grey winter day.

What do you think of these?  Would you spend the astronomical £495-£695 for them?

Oooops!

I confess.

I have been meaning to post on here all the fab goodies I bought in Bologna, and I've just realised that I haven't done it yet.  I hang my head in shame, all the while promising to make up for it.

Nothing in my defense except to say .... No, nothing bears up to scrutiny.

So, until I get snapping away with the camera to post photos of my shopping haul, here's a peek of what I think will have to be my summer shoes for next year.

Utterly romantic.  So wearable.  So adorably cute.  I am swooning.

Bologna Bound!

I'm off to Bologna for a long weekend with the girls, and that can only mean three things....

Shopping, shopping and more shopping!

Now the only thing thats slightly taking the shine off this is that I'm flying Ryan Air (yikes!), so with only hand luggage, that may cramp my style somewhat, but I'm sure I'll find a way around it.  In fact, I think I already have!

And I'm really proud of myself that I've managed to fit all, and I mean all, my make-up, creams, lotions and potions in one tiny little bag - no mean feat for me, which you'll fully understand if you've read my article on the Beauty Passionista blog, which you can find here.

If there is anything you think I shouldn't miss while I'm there - restaurants, bars, shopping sights, then please do let me know.

I'll write more when I get back and I'll be tweeting from there, so follow me on twitter by clicking here: Ambarina's Twitter

Until then, Ciao Bella!!!

SOTD Rupert Sanderson Magnum

Yes folks, it's Shoe Of The Day!

Today, was a big day in terms of dressing up.  I attended a lunch for 250 guests, so it had to be the high heels.  But there was a catch.  I was wearing a sari, so the shoes couldn't be too heavy or clumpy looking as that would ruin the ultra-feminine look of a sari.

Rupert Sanderson came to the rescue, with glossy high-heeled, platform slingbacks, in a mushroom-y taupe-y colour, with a razor-sharp ultra-pointed fabulous toe.  Fierce!

You like?  Yay or Nay?

It's about time....

Well, I've long been wondering where to share my love of shoes, a love (nay, obsession, according to all who know me), that has been with me since before I hit my teenage years.

To put my ramblings on Beauty Passionista seems kind of odd, so the only other option seems to be another blog. I probably won't post on here as often, but given my love of shoes, handbags and shopping in general, I get the feeling it won't be too long before there's a post or two on here.

Shoes, handbags, going out, the finer things in life... just stuff that comes into my head.... it'll all be here.

So please feel free to post your comments and shopping suggestions, all will be gratefully received, (although not by my bank manager!)

And there may be the odd lipgloss on here too - can't promise it won't make an appearance!
